FootJoy: Golfschuhe für Damen und Herren

Die Geschichte von FootJoy beginnt im Jahr 1857, als die Burt and Packard Shoe Company in Brockton, Massachusetts, gegründet wurde. Später wurde sie zur Field & Flint Company.

Schnell wurden professionelle Golfspieler auf die Marke aufmerksam. Sie wurde zur offiziellen Schuhmarke des US-Ryder-Cup-Teams unter Kapitän Walter Hagen.

Seit 1945 ist FootJoy die am häufigsten vertretene Schuhmarke auf der PGA Tour – eine Dominanz, die bis heute anhält. Erst in den 1980er-Jahren erhielt das Unternehmen schließlich den Namen, unter dem es heute bekannt ist: FootJoy.

FJ – auch führend bei Golfhandschuhen

Nachdem FootJoy sich als Marktführer im Bereich Golfschuhe etabliert hatte, wagte das Unternehmen 1979 den Schritt in den Bereich der Golfhandschuhe. Bereits ein Jahr später wurden die Sta-Sof-Handschuhe zur Nummer 1 der Golfhandschuhe. Dank der Zusammenarbeit mit der britischen Firma Pittards war FootJoy der erste Hersteller, der hydrophobes, also wasserabweisendes Leder einsetzte – eine bahnbrechende Innovation!

Die Erfolgsgeschichte setzte sich fort und FootJoy begann nun auch, Golfsocken zu produzieren, die zum dritten Standbein des Unternehmens wurden. 1990 folgte eine weitere technologische Revolution: FootJoy brachte die ersten synthetischen Golfhandschuhe aus Mikrofaser auf den Markt: die WeatherSof.

Auch 30 Jahre später gelten die WeatherSof als die besten synthetischen Handschuhe, die je entwickelt wurden. Sie sind außergewöhnlich wasserbeständig und überaus griffig. Sie wurden zum meistverkauften Modell aller Zeiten und gelten als Referenz für Golfhandschuhe. 1996 verkaufte FootJoy seinen 50-millionsten Handschuh und erweiterte sein Sortiment um die Winter-Sof-Handschuhe für kalte Bedingungen sowie die Rain-Grip-Modelle für regnerische Tage.

Poloshirts, Jacken, Shorts, Mützen, Caps und mehr

1997 stieg FootJoy in den Golfbekleidungsmarkt ein und brachte unter anderem Poloshirts, Regenkleidung und eine eigene Golf-Modelinie für Damen auf den Markt. Tradition und Innovation

In den 2000er-Jahren beschleunigte FootJoy seine Innovationskraft weiter. Die FootJoy-Lederschuhe wurden noch wasserdichter, leichter und komfortabler. Die Produktion wurde ausgebaut, um die wachsende Nachfrage zu bedienen. 2004 erreichte die Marke einen Marktanteil von 51,9 % im Bereich Golfhandschuhe und feierte den Verkauf des 100-millionsten Handschuhs.

Parallel dazu wurde die gesamte Schuhkollektion überarbeitet, um die neue Flextability-Technologie zu integrieren. Diese erhöht die Stabilität des Golfspielers beim Schwung erheblich. In Kombination mit der Tri-Lateral-Stabilitätsstruktur können Golfer nun ihre volle Kraft entfalten, ohne störende Bewegungen zu spüren. Mit ihrer Erfahrung in der Herstellung von Regenbekleidung brachte FootJoy 2012 eine komplette Kollektion an Golfkleidung für Herren auf den Markt.

Über die Jahre hinweg hat sich FootJoy als weltweiter Marktführer im Bereich Golfschuhe und Golfhandschuhe etabliert – und das ohne Kompromisse bei Innovation und Qualität einzugehen. Die Schuhe werden immer leichter, bieten eine verbesserte Bodenhaftung, und die Handschuhe überzeugen durch einen hohen Tragekomfort und eine Top-Performance.
