FootJoy: Golfschuhe für Damen und Herren

Die Geschichte von FootJoy beginnt im Jahr 1857, als die Burt and Packard Shoe Company in Brockton, Massachusetts, gegründet wurde. Später wurde sie zur Field & Flint Company.

Schnell wurden professionelle Golfspieler auf die Marke aufmerksam. Sie wurde zur offiziellen Schuhmarke des US-Ryder-Cup-Teams unter Kapitän Walter Hagen.

Seit 1945 ist FootJoy die am häufigsten vertretene Schuhmarke auf der PGA Tour – eine Dominanz, die bis heute anhält. Erst in den 1980er-Jahren erhielt das Unternehmen schließlich den Namen, unter dem es heute bekannt ist: FootJoy.

FJ – auch führend bei Golfhandschuhen

Nachdem FootJoy sich als Marktführer im Bereich Golfschuhe etabliert hatte, wagte das Unternehmen 1979 den Schritt in den Bereich der Golfhandschuhe. Bereits ein Jahr später wurden die Sta-Sof-Handschuhe zur Nummer 1 der Golfhandschuhe. Dank der Zusammenarbeit mit der britischen Firma Pittards war FootJoy der erste Hersteller, der hydrophobes, also wasserabweisendes Leder einsetzte – eine bahnbrechende Innovation!

Die Erfolgsgeschichte setzte sich fort und FootJoy begann nun auch, Golfsocken zu produzieren, die zum dritten Standbein des Unternehmens wurden. 1990 folgte eine weitere technologische Revolution: FootJoy brachte die ersten synthetischen Golfhandschuhe aus Mikrofaser auf den Markt: die WeatherSof.

Auch 30 Jahre später gelten die WeatherSof als die besten synthetischen Handschuhe, die je entwickelt wurden. Sie sind außergewöhnlich wasserbeständig und überaus griffig.
